John Horowitz

First Vice President / District Manager


John Horowtiz supports our Canadian operations by acting as the supervising executive for our Montreal office. Mr. Horowitz is District Manager & First Vice President with oversight of the Brooklyn, Boston & Montreal offices.  He joined the Firm in November 2006 and has been in management since 2010.  As District Manager, John provides strategic direction for the firm’s Brooklyn and Queens operations on a day-to-day basis as well as oversees the Boston & Montreal operations in coordination with local management. Prior to Marcus & Millichap, John was a corporate lawyer at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, at the time, the nation’s largest law firm, where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions.

John graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University.  John and his wife, Teri, have two sons, Ezra and Simon.  John serves as the President of Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope, one of the fastest-growing synagogues in the country.  Also, John serves as the Chairman of the Board Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center, a not-for-profit that purchases and rehabilitates industrial assets with the purpose of keeping and creating jobs in Brooklyn and Queens.  He currently resides in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
